Public Education & Policy

The National Center on Family Homelessness conducts rigorous studies and writes reports that documents the causes, correlates, and consequences of homelessness. This information provides local and national leaders with accurate information to help create effective policy. The National Center develops and evaluates our own programs and those of others to identify solutions that work to prevent and end family homelessness.

Using this knowledge, we tell the story of family homelessness to policymakers and the public. Our current efforts include the Campaign to End Child Homelessness and America's Youngest Outcasts: State Report Card on Child Homelessness.

In addition, we have partnered with the Center for Social Innovation to disseminate information through the Homelessness Resource Center. The Center has developed an interactive online website for providers, consumers, policymakers, researchers, and public agencies at federal, state, and local levels who share knowledge, solutions, and promising practices.
